Ramesh alias Hidma Madavi (45), a former cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), carrying a reward of INR 1.2 million on his head, was arrested in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on November 11, reports NDTV. Police official Atul Kulkarni said, Madavi was arrested by the Police of Maharashtra's Gondia District and has been brought to Gondia and produced in court, which has sent him to five days in Police custody. Based on a tip-off, a team of eight C60 commandos went to Sukma and arrested Madavi with the help of Chhattisgarh Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, the official said. Madavi, wanted in more than 13 cases, was active with Deori Dalam (armed squad) between 1998 to 2010 and later went underground, eluding the Police for more than 10 years, the official added.
