The Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI) on February 26, stated that at least four civilians and one Security Force (SF) personal was killed in separate Taliban attacks in five provinces on the fifth day of the Reduction in Violence plan (RIV), reports Tolo News. “The Taliban today launched some attacks in Logar, Ghazni, Zabul, Kandahar and Laghman Provinces. The attacks resulted in the killing of at least four civilians and one security force member. Four others were wounded in the attacks,” said Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the MoI. According to the Afghan government, 19 SFs and four civilians were killed, and 35 SFs were injured in the Taliban attacks since the implementation of the reduction in violence (RIV) plan on February 21.
Meanwhile, MoI Spokesperson Nasrat Rahimi informed that at least nine civilians, including a woman, were wounded when an improvised Explosive Device (IED) placed in a motorbike went off in Fazi Mohammad Kateb road in PD6 in Kabul city of Kabul Province, reports Tolo News. The Taliban ‘spokesman’ Zabiullah Mujahid in a Twitter post denied its involvement in the incident, saying intelligence networks are trying to create distrust.
