Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists who were involved in killing of Kashmiri TV actress Amreen Bhat, were killed in encounter at Aganhanzipora area of Awantipora in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in the night of May 26, reports Daily Excelsior. A Police spokesperson said both the terrorists got trapped during a cordon after the killing of actress Amreen Bhat. Both the terrorists were identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat, resident of Hafroo Chadoora in Budgam and Farhan Habib, resident of Hakripora in Pulwama. They had killed Amreen Bhat on the instruction of LeT commander Lateef. One AK 56 rifle, 4 magazines and a pistol recovered from their possession.
Further, another encounter broke out in Soura area of Srinagar, the capital of J&K, in which two LeT terrorists were shot dead on May 26, reports Daily Excelsior.
Separately, an Army porter injured in a gunfight in Jumagund village of Kupwara District on May 26 succumbed to his injuries, reports Greater Kashmir. The porter, identified as Ab Lateef Mir, son of Ab Majeed Mir, a resident of Kuchiban Jummagund, succumbed to injuries at a hospital after receiving firearm injuries in the encounter.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on May 26 arrested key accused in Sunjwan terror attack on Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) vehicle carrying 15 personnel on April 22, reports Daily Excelsior. The accused Abid Ahmad Mir, a resident of Putrigam in Pulwama District, is an Over Ground Worker of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The case was initially registered in Bahu Fort Police station in Jammu on April 22 and re-registered by NIA on April 26. “Investigation has revealed that accused Mir is an Over Ground Worker of JeM and was a close associate of arrested accused Bilal Ahmed Wagay. He was also in touch with Pakistan-based handlers of JeM. He knowingly and voluntarily had extended support to the other co-accused persons in the commission of the instant crime,” said the NIA.
