The Government on March 4 lifted a ban on activities of the outlawed Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist-Chand), reports Kathmandu Post. A Cabinet meeting endorsed the three-point agreement signed between the Government and the Chand party. The group signed the agreement, which states that the outfit will address all its political issues through dialogue, carry out all political activities in a peaceful manner and the Government, in return, will lift the ban imposed on the party’s activities. The agreement also paves the way for the Government to free CPN-Maoist-Chand cadres and withdraw court cases against them.
