A hardcore Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Sukda Hemla alias Sukkhu (35), a ‘militia commander’ of the CPI-Maoist, allegedly involved in incidents of killings and setting vehicles on fire, was arrested from forested area near Bodli village under Nelasnar Police Station limits in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on September 18, reports The Pioneer. Police said, Hemla was working in the "intelligence" wing of the Bhairamgarh area committee of Maoists and two warrants had been pending against him. He was allegedly involved in the killings of a ‘Police informer’ in April 2019 in Nelasnar area and a councillor in April 2017 in Bhairamgarh. Apart from this, Hemla was also wanted in connection with other Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE]-related incidents, including setting a tractor on fire in Mirtur area of the District last month.
