The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) delegates urged the United States to release Afghan assets, end sanctions, and take names off the blacklist,reports Tolo News on November 30. Delegations from the United States and the IEA held two-day talks in Doha, Qatar and discussed a range of issues, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, said both sides discussed political, economic, health, education, security, and humanitarian issues affecting Afghanistan. Balkhi wrote on Twitter that the Islamic Emirate delegation, led by acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, assured the US delegation led by Thomas West, the US Special Representative for Afghanistan, about security in Afghanistan and called for the release of financial assets of Afghanistan's central bank.
