A joint body of six Mizo organisations and Nagarik Suraksha Mancha, a local civil society group, in North Tripura District has called an indefinite bandh (shutdown strike) in Kanchanpur subdivision from February 26 to press for fulfilment of their three-point charter of demands, reports The Assam Tribune on February 25. The demands include immediate resumption of relief to 93 displaced families in the Anandabazar area under the subdivision. The families have been living at the Anandabazar Police Station since December 10 2019 after being forced to flee their homes during violent agitation by anti-CAA protesters. The Mizo organisations also demanded a similar package for ethnic Mizo families living in Sakhan Shermun village and Jampui Hills in North Tripura District.
