On December 4, the Islamic State of Khurasan Province (ISKP) claimed responsibility for the attack on Pakistan’s envoy in Kabul, reports Hasht-E Subh Daily. ISKP said in a statement on December 4, it had “attacked the apostate Pakistani ambassador and his guards.” ISKP claimed that this attack was carried out by two of its members, adding that Pakistan’s envoy to Afghanistan, Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, was the target of the attack. ISKP added that at least one embassy guard was injured in this attack. Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul came under attack on December 2, with gunfire injuring a Pakistani security guard, named Asrar Mohammad, in what Islamabad called an attempt to assassinate its envoy, who was unhurt.
