Police chalked out a security plan to ensure the safety of polio workers during the vaccination campaign which begun on May 13 in 94 union councils of Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, reports The Express Tribune. The polio campaign will last until May 19. The security plan was finalised by Lahore Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Operations, Ismaeel Ur Rehman Kharak who chaired a meeting reviewing security arrangements at the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations office on May 13. According to the security plan one Superintendent of Police (SP), two Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs), six Inspectors, 59 upper subordinates and 900 constables will be on duty to provide security during the polio drive. Moreover, as many as 332 motorcycles and 59 vehicles from local police stations will be used for patrolling purposes.
