The National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigation has revealed that at-least at six instances the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) linked charity outfit—Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) distributed money through Hawala (illegal money transfer) channels among poor families of Mewat region of Haryana and Rajasthan States, to build goodwill for the terrorist group, reports Hindustan Times on October 16. NIA suspect that the charity was done to create a base for LeT or FIF activities in the region. The idea was to generate goodwill by distributing money for organising weddings and the Mosque— to be encash at the right opportunity, said an NIA official on condition of anonymity.
