A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘commander’ was arrested from the Jantri forests in Swabhiman Anchal area in Malkangiri District of Odisha on November 27, reports The Pioneer. While the Police did not reveal the identity of the Maoist, Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay said, “it’s a great success for the police and very significant loss for the Red rebels. Normally their military platoon is their best fighting arm. It’s a huge setback for them as they have lost one of their commanders.”
