A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘commander’, identified as Chandan Darro, carrying an INR 500,000 cash reward, surrendered before the Police in Kanker District of Chhattisgarh on August 7, reports The Times of India. Darro, active in the banned outfit for the past 15 years, was involved in many encounters against Security Forces (SFs) and was assigned to strengthen the Maoist organization in Mahasamund District, neighboring the state capital.
