The cadres of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) attacked a road construction site and set ablaze vehicles and construction machinery near Bandarchua village under Samri Police Station limits in Balrampur District of Chhattisgarh on February 17, reports The Pioneer. According to a Police Official, around a dozen armed Maoists raided the construction site and set afire three trucks, two excavators and one concrete mixer machine. The Superintendent of Police (SP), T.R. Koshima, said, "The vehicles and machines were deployed for work under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The site is on the border of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. The Maoists escaped into the forests of neighbouring Jharkhand."
