The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres blew up a tarred road and set ablaze 13 vehicles in two separate incidents in Jharkhand on July 12 and 13 respectively, reports Outlook. In one incident, Maoists blew up a tarred road at Khutipani block (administrative unit) in West Singhbhum District on July 13. According to Police, Maoists used a cylinder bomb to blow up the road. The rebels buried the cylinder bomb inside the road, connected it through a wire and later blasted it causing a crater like pit on the road, the Police added. In another incident, Maoists set ablaze 13 vehicles and blew up a forest range guest house at Barakela under Mufassil Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District on July 12. Earlier, SATP reported that Maoists blew up 12 forest department buildings in Jharkhand on July 13.
Meanwhile, a Maoist and a Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) - a splinter group of the CPI-Maoist, cadre were arrested in separate incidents in Giridih and Chatra Districts of Jharkhand on July 13, reports The Times of India. In one incident, a Maoist identified as Kishore Chand Kisku alias Toofan, was arrested near Manjhidih area in Giridih District. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Renu, Kisku was wanted in several criminal cases and carried a cash reward of INR 100,000 on his head. In another incident, Police arrested a member of TPC identified as - Arjun Ganju, from his residence under Tandwa Police Station limits in Chatra District. The SP Rishabh Kumar Jha said, Ganju has six cases filed against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
