Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres blew up two mobile towers by planting explosives during the resistance day from January 21 to 26, before the Jharkhand and Bihar Bandh (general shut down strike) called on 27 January 2022, by the Maoists in protest against the arrest of ‘politburo member’ cum Eastern Regional Bureau ‘secretary’ Prashant Bose alias Kishan Da (77) and his wife Sheela Marandi alias Sheela Di, who were arrested on November 12, 2021, in Khukra and Madhuban under Pirtand Block (administrative unit) in Giridih District of Jharkhand on January 21, reports prabhatkhabar.com. The resistance day of CPI-Maoist organization has started from January 21, and the Maoists have given a call to make the resistance day a success by putting up posters at the spot. According to the information received from the sources, this incident has been carried out by the squad of Maoist leader Krishna Hansda, who carries a reward of INR 1.5 million.
Meanwhile, Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘zonal commander’ Maharaj Pramanik alias Raj alias Bablu alias Ashok duly surrendered before Inspector General of Police (IGP), Operations, AV Homkar and other Police officers in Ranchi District of Jharkhand on January 21, reports prabhatkhabar.com. During the surrender Pramanik also handed over an AK-47, two magazines, 150 rounds of bullets and two wireless sets. Pramanik, who joined the Maoist organization in 2009, carried a reward of INR one million announced by the State Government on him. Police was looking for him in a total of 119 cases registered in different Police Stations of Seraikela, Ranchi, West Singhbhum and Khunti Districts.
