The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) has released a statement in the name of its Dakshin Sub-zonal Bureau (DSZB), Dandakaranya differing with the Security Forces’ (SFs) version of casualties in the recent attack in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh, reports The Week on March 26. The Maoists claimed to have killed 19 security personnel and injuring 20 more and admitted that they lost three of their cadres, too. The Maoists have identified their three slain cadres as members of People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), armed wing of CPI-Maoist – Sanju, Rajesh and Sukhju, all belonging to Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh. However, the SFs said that they killed 25 Maoists and released some pictures, too, of the slain ones. The bodies of all the Maoists are yet to be found. A senior CRPF official said, "We are sure that as many as 25 Maoists have been killed in the encounter."
