Armed cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) killed a dreaded gangster, identified as Ramanand Yadav, his relative, and a close associate while five others were injured in a gun-battle at an undisclosed location on the border of Khagaria-Saharsa District of Bihar on April 8, reports Deccan Herald. As per the report, the Maoists were tracking Ramanand who had gone to Khagaria to attend the last rites of his brother-in-law. They gheraoed Ramanand and his men on the border of Khagaria-Saharsa District and in the ensued gunfight, Ramanand, his nephew and a close associate were killed. Ramanand was wanted by the Bihar Police in connection with more than a dozen cases of kidnapping, loot and murder in five Districts – Saharsa, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Khagaria in Bihar.
