Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres gunned down a 48-year-old man, identified as Lalbati Majhi, suspecting him to be a ‘Police informer’ in Panchakul village under Sadar Police Station limits in Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi District of Odisha on November 24, reports ommcomnews.com. According to reports, while Lalbati was sleeping in his house, he was forcibly taken away by Maoists and killed near Katlang village and left some posters at the spot where the killing took place. In the posters, the Maoists belonging to the Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali (BGN) Division mentioned that Lalbati was punished since he was working as a ‘Police informer’. They have warned that some people from the area are working as informers for the Police and will be punished soon.
