The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres shot dead a civilian, identified as Parmeshwar Sahu, on suspicion of being a ‘Police informer’ in a weekly market of Piri village in Chatra District of Jharkhand on January 17, reports The Telegraph. Around five to six armed Maoists entered the market along NH-100 in Piri and shot Parmeshwar from point blank range and escaped in the neighboring forest area chanting slogans that warned ‘Police informers’ of dire consequences.
