Assam Rifles (AR) while conducting search operation in near New Kaiphundai in Tamenglong District of Manipur was fired up on by suspected militants, on January 11, reports E-pao. Upon retaliation the militants fled leaving behind a civilian they had abducted.
Separately on January 12, Assam Rifles (AR) rescued three other abducted civilians and recovered an AK 47 magazine with 12 ammunition rounds, 500 grams of explosive from New Kaiphundai in Tamenglong District of Manipur, reports E-pao.
Additionally, a grenade was recovered on January 14 at Sangaiprou FCI godown in Imphal West District, reports The Sangai Express.
On January 15, a Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) militant was arrested from Kakching Ningthou Leikai in Kakching District of Manipur, reports The Sangai Express. The arrestee was identified as Yaikhom Janendro Singh.
Up on his disclosure two more KYKL militant were arrested from an unspecified location, reports The Sangai Express on January 16.
Assam Rifles tweets that on January 11 and 12 a militant of Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) and Kangleipak Communist Party-People War Group (KCP-PWG) whre arrested from Thoubal District and Imphal East District of Manipur respectively.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids in different locations on January 14 suspected to be related to an alleged terror funding case, reports The Sangai Express. The raids were carried out at Eastern Hero Showroom owned by Sinam Pritam and the private residence of Ringon alias Ramung located at Dewlaland Kabo Leikai in Imphal East District.
