On August 9, suspected militants from United Liberation Front of Assam- Independent (ULFA-I) and Yung Aung faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland- Khaplang (NSCN-KYA) opened fire at 14th Assam Rifles camp in Noklak District, near the Indo-Myanmar border, reports News 18. Nagaland Post adds that a firing incident was reported in the Dan village area under Noklak District.
Also, on August 9, suspected militants from ULFA-I and NSCN-KYA opened fire at Saramati area in Kiphire District, near the Indo-Myanmar border, reports News 18. No casualties were reported in the incident.
