The National Conference (NC) leader, Ali Mohammad Dar, was released on February 16, from preventive detention in sub-jail MLA hostel in Srinagar District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. After Dar’s release, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Peer Mansoor and Awami Ithad Party (AIP), Bilal Sultan were the only ones left under preventive detention, who are likely to be released in few days. Thirty-five mainstream politicians were moved from the Centaur hotel on the banks of the Dal lake to the MLA hostel in November 2019 and most of them have been released now or have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA), 1953. Now, only four politicians are in the sub-jail MLA hostel. Two of them -Shah Faisal and Hilal Lone - are under PSA, while Mansoor and Sultan are under preventive detention.
