Leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist–Leninist (CPN-UML) faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal faction is preparing to resign en-masse without casting votes in favour of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, reportsKhabarhub on May 5. Out of 121 lawmakers in the ruling CPN-UML, the Nepal-Khanal faction has been claiming to have over 35 lawmakers. In the 275-member House of Representatives (HoR), the CPN-UML has 121 lawmakers, Nepali Congress (NC) has 63 (two suspended), Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre (CPN-Maoist Centre) has 49 (four defected to CPN-UML), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has 34 (two suspended) and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP), Rastriya Janamorch (RJM), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Independent have one seat each.
