The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on June 6, conducted raids at 10 locations in Punjab and Haryana in a case linked to banned terrorist outfit Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), reports Hindustan Times. The searches targeted the residences of individuals suspected to be linked to Canada-based terrorist and KTF operative Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dalla. Officials said the searches were conducted at the premises of associates of Dalla and his close aide Manpreet Singh alias Peeta, currently living in the Philippines, in a case registered by the NIA on August 20, 2022.“Both are raising funds for the banned terrorist organisation through extortion and other means, and carrying out smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives from across the border,” reads the statement.
Two individuals, identified as Amritpal Singh alias Ammy and Amrik Singh, who are allegedly linked to KTF and engaged in activities such as youth recruitment, smuggling, and procurement of arms and ammunition, have been sent to judicial custody by Delhi Court after their National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody ended, reports Hindustan Times on June 7. They were arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) upon their deportation from Manila in Philippines on May 19, 2023.
