At least nine Taliban militants including their ‘commanders’ were killed in a premature explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan on February 24, reports The Khaama Press. The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement on February 25 said that nine Taliban militants including their four ‘commanders’ were killed in the explosion. The statement further added that six other Taliban militants also sustained injuries in the explosion. According to the MoI, the incident took place in Jaga Aaraq Qazaq area of Qala-e-Zal District, as the militants were busy planting an IEDs.
