The Attorney General (AG) Dappula De Livera on May 5 said that there are no legal obstacles for Member of Parliament (MP) Rishad Bathiudeen to attend Parliament sessions, reports Daily News. The AG informed this following a request made by the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The CID has arrested on April 24 MP Rishad Bathiudeen and his brother Riyaj Bathiudeen on the charges of aiding and abetting the suicide bombers responsible for Easter Sunday attacks on April 21, 2019. Following their initial interrogation for 72 hours, MP Bathiudeen and his brother have been detained by the CID for another three months under detention orders from the Secretary to Defence.
