The Pakistan Army shelled mortars at forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) violating the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) in Mankote sector in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India early on August 9 (today), reports Daily Excelsior. A defence spokesperson said, “At about 6.45 am, Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling mortars along LoC in Mankote sector. Indian army retaliates befittingly.” However, there was no report of any casualty in the CFA violation.
