Security Forces (SFs) comprising Police and the C-60 Commandos, neutralized an arms manufacturing unit of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), while a Policeman was injured in the operation in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on March 4, reports ANI. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Sandip Patil said, “the SFs entered Kodur area in the District and engaged a Maoist group in action near Kukameta village. Exchange of fire went on for 25 minutes, with Maoists running away. Our men found the gun unit in the area having two lathe machines and destroyed it. Two more encounters followed around in Kodur forest, in which a Policeman was shot in the leg. On March 5, there was another encounter between Maoists and the SFs. But the Maoists fled, with Police dominating in the fire”.
