A Policeman who was serving as a computer operator in District Police was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mir Ali bazar of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 3, reports The Khorasan Diary.
Former Member of National Assembly (MNA) and National Democratic Movement (NDM) Chairman Mohsin Dawar escaped unhurt after his vehicle came under fire in Miranshah area of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 3, reports Dawn. North Waziristan District Police Officer (DPO) Rohan Zeb said Dawar was targeted during an election campaign in the area. “The vehicle carrying the former lawmaker was bulletproof,” he added. Zeb said security guards accompanying Dawar responded with gunfire, adding that the attackers used sub-machine guns (SMGs) in the assault.
A Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) candidate for the general elections survived a bomb attack on January 3 when his vehicle was targeted with a remote-controlled device in Mamund tehsil (revenue unit) of Bajaur District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports The Express Tribune. The incident occurred in where the JUI-F nominee for PK-19 constituency, Qari Khairullah, was the intended target. Khairullah’s vehicle was damaged as a result of the blast, but the JUI-F leader remained unharmed.
