President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on July 23 ratified the amendment put forward by the government seeking to increase the number of judges at the Supreme Court, reports The Edition. Prior to the amendment, the number of justices at the apex court was five. Two additional appointments will be finalized, increasing the number of judges, including the Chief Justice, to seven in total.
