President Abdul Hamid on April 8 rejected the mercy petition of retired Army Captain Abdul Majed, one of the convicted killers of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, clearing the way for his execution, reports New Age. The President rejected the petition when it reached Bangabhaban after he sought Presidential clemency for his deeds.
