On September 22, former Nagaland governor RN Ravi officially submitted resignation as interlocutor for Naga talks to Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), reports East Mojo. In a statement, UMHA said, “Shri R.N. Ravi’s resignation as interlocutor for the Naga peace process, submitted by him today has been accepted with immediate effect by Government of India.” This development comes after peace talk between National Socialist Council of Nagaland- Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) and Government of India (GoI) resumed with AK Mishra acting as the interim interlocutor. Moreover, on September 21, Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio met with the NSCN-IM ‘s ‘general secretary’ Th Muivah in Dimapur, Nagaland. Marathon talks in Nagaland between the Centre’s representatives and the NSCN-IM is expected to continue till September 23.
