A retired Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Inspector, identified as Malik Ashiq, was killed when unidentified assailants hurled a cracker at a shop in Sachal Goth of Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh, on July 8, reports Samaa TV. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sajid Sadozai, the incident looks like an act of terrorism.However, Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) claims the responsibility of the attack. He was the main informer and facilitator of Rangers operations in Sachal area of Karachi, said Sodho Sindhi, the SRA ‘spokesperson’.
