The Tamil Nadu Police has increased the security at various places like Bhavanisagar, Burgur, Thalavadi, Hassanure and Kadambur and ten check posts at Karnataka-Tamil Nadu Border with armed guards deployed for checking, after receiving intelligence inputs about a possible Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) attack in Tamil Nadu, reports Asianet News on June 17. CPI-Maoist cadres are planning to strike at Tamil Nadu via Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve Forest area. 10 specially trained Commando personnel have been selected among the Armed Reserve Police and they will be sent to the forests along with Armed Policemen to keep vigil, said V Sasi Mohan, Superintendent of Police (SP).
