The personnel of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered nine kilograms of heroin in separate incidents in Punjab on March 23, reports The Tribune. In one incident, personnel of CIA and BSF recovered 4.27 kilograms of heroin from an area close to the border outpost Bareke along the India-Pakistan border in Ferozepur District. According to the Officials, the consignment was stored in four plastic bottles. A China-made pistol was also seized along with the contraband.
In another incident, the BSF troopers recovered three packets of heroin weighing around 3.25 kilograms in the Abohar sector in Fazilka District of the State. Another 1.48 kilograms of heroin were recovered from Behram Shersingh Wala village at Guruharsahai city in Ferozepur District. Also, a person, identified as Gurdev Singh was arrested in this connection in the District.
