Singaporean Security Agencies have detained two residents, money-changer, Kuthubdeen Haja Najumudeen (36), a, Suderman Samikin (47), reports Colombo Gazetteer on July 26. The two suspects had been accused of intending to join the Islamic State (IS) group in Syria. Notably, Haja was a follower of Zahran Hashim, the alleged mastermind and one of the suicide bombers in the Easter terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka which killed 258 people in April. Kuthubdeen Haja had donated funds to Easter Bombing suspect Zahran Hashim and his group, though investigators did not find any indication that he was involved in the attacks, the Singapore Interior Ministry said.
