Five persons were arrested in two separate operations related to Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) racket from Bandiya Chapori under Mangaldai Police Station (PS) and Baroipara under Kharupetia Police Station (PS) of Darrang District in Assam, reports Northeast Now on June 12. FICN worth INR 17,500 of INR 500 denomination, genuine Indian currency notes worth INR 13,410 along with a printer and a bundle of blank papers were recovered from the possession of the arrested racketeers identified as Ali Hussain, Amirul Islam, Ruhul Ali, Inamul Haque and Saddam Hussain.
Earlier, on June11, a drug peddler identified as Moinul Ali was arrested from Darrang District in Assam. He previously evaded arrest by fleeing and leaving behind a vehicle with suspected drugs.
