Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) on October 23 expelled Member of Parliaments (MPs)who supported 20th Amendment to the Constitution, reports Colombo Page. Eight SJB MPs and one TPA MP voted in favour of the 20th Amendment. The General Secretary of SJB Ranjith Madduma Bandara said in a Twitter post “The SJB has decided to expel from our parliamentary group members who voted in favor of the 20th Amendment, despite the party’s stand against it, effective immediately. Further disciplinary action will follow.” Similarly, leader of TPA Mano Ganesan tweeted “I hereby suspend Aravindakumar MP from Tamil Progressive Alliance. He will be sacked from TPA by the Politburo. TPA Parliamentary group will discuss this matter in few hours.”
