The Supreme Court on November 25, issued a notice in an appeal filed by the Central Government challenging a Karnataka High Court judgement by which it ruled that attending “jihadi meetings” of organisations which are not outlawed by the Government does not amount to a “terrorist act”, reports thenewsmill.com. A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli issued notice to Saleem Khan a suspected operative of Al-Hind Group, which is reported to be involved in terrorist activities. Earlier in April, 2022, Karnataka High Court granted bail to Saleem Khan. charged in 2020 with terror offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act-UAPA on the ground that the group he was associated with was not a banned organisation.
