On October 23, Helmand Governor Yasin Khan said that the Taliban’s attempt to overrun Lashkargah city has been foiled and that the security situation in the city will improve, reports Tolo News. “The enemy’s evil plan was to overrun Lashkargah, but we want to assure our people that the plan was failed. This also clarifies that the enemy does not want peace and they want war,” the Governor said.Two weeks ago, the Taliban perpetrated a major offensive on some strategic parts of Helmand Province including Lashkargah, Nahr-e-Saraj, Nawa and Nad Ali Districts.
