Three soldiers were killed and eight others injured when militants opened fire on Security Forces patrolling convoy near Kahan area of Gichak valley in Panjgur District of Balochistan on July 14, reports Dawn. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said the militants carried out the "fire raid" when the SF security personnel were on routine patrol Kahan area. The injured soldiers include an officer. Five of the injured security personnel are in critical condition, the statement added.
However, Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed of killing at least 20 army personnel in the attack, reports The Balochistan Post. The BLF spokesperson, Gwahram Baloch, released a statement to the media saying at least 20 army personnel including an officer died in the attack by BLF fighters.
Separately, the tortured body of an enforced disappeared man, identified as Hasil Khan, son of Abdullah Bugti, was recovered near Zainko area of Dera Bugti District on July 13, reports Republican News. Hasil Khan was abducted by SFs in the night of July 12 from Zainkoh area and was later tortured to death in custody.
Meanwhile, a gas well destroyed in Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti District on July 12, reports Republican News. According to details, unidentified persons destroyed gas well No. 26 in Pir Koh area with explosives in the night. As a result of the explosion, the gas well was completely destroyed. After which the gas supply to the plant from the well was cut off forever.
Further, a 36-inch diameter gas pipeline was destroyed by unidentified persons in Pir chata area of Dera Bugti District in the night of July 9, reports Republican News. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident. According to the Levies Force, the assailants attached an explosive device with the gas pipeline which exploded. The blast damaged the pipeline and gas supply from the Pir Koh plant to different parts of the country was suspended. The Baloch Liberation Tigers (BLT) claimed responsibility for blowing up the pipeline.
