The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Frontier Corps (FC) on November 28 arrested three Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants during a joint operation in Killi Sher Jan area of Wadh tehsil (revenue unit) in Khuzdar District of Balochistan, reports The Balochistan Post. An Ak-47, 25 kilogrammes of explosives, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other remote-control devices were recovered from the militant’s hideout. The CTD officials said that the militants were planning operations in Lasbela, Kalat and Khuzdar.
Meanwhile, three professors of University of Balochistan (Quetta) had gone missing under mysterious circumstances on November 28, reports The Balochistan Post. Two of the professors were later released, but one of them remains missing. The professors – identified as Dr Liaquat Sanni, Shabir Shahwani and Nizam Shahwani – were travelling from Quetta to Khuzdar to visit the ongoing examinations, but mysteriously went missing along the way. Two of the professors were found in Kanak area of Mastung, but one of them – Dr Liaquat Sanni – remains missing. Liaquat Sani was serving as the Chairman of the Brahui department in the University of Balochistan in Quetta and was also known for his research on Brahui language. He has authored several books, scholarly articles and has also earned a PhD in Brahui language.
