Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants, including a LeT ‘commander’ identified as Mudasir Pandit, were killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) in the Gund Brath area of Sopore of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on June 20, reports Times Now. The SFs launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area following information about the presence of at least three militants, including Pandit. Police also identified another militant killed in this incident as Asrar alias Abdullah, a resident of Pakistan, who is active in North Kashmir since 2018. Mudasir Pandit was wanted by SFs in many cases, including the killing of two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councilors and three Policemen and two civilians recently, said Inspector General of Police (IG) Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar. The identity of the third militant is yet to be ascertained.
