Security Forces (SFs) arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) during an operation in Sopore area in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on May 30, reports Daily Excelsior. A Police spokesman said that Sopore Police, 22- Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of Army and 179 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a joint operation at Shangergund on Sopore Kupwara Road arrested three OGWs of LeT, who have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir alias Lashkiri, Mudasir Ahmad Mir and Athar Shamas Mir. Police said that incriminating materials including arms and ammunitions were recovered from their possession. The arms and ammunition recovered include one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) Thrower, four UBGL grenades, four AK- 47 magazines and 137 rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
Meanwhile, the two militants killed in an encounter at Wanpora in Qoimoh area in Kulgam District on May 30, were identified as Shakir Yatoo of Ghat Khudwani in Kulgam District, and Perwaiz Hajam of Wanpora in Khudwani area in Kulgam District. Both of them belonged to the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM). Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) had reported the incident stating two militants were killed in an encounter which broke out between SFs and militants in Kulgam District of J&K on May 30.
