Three Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) militia members were arrested while checking vehicles at Pedamidisileru village under Cherla Mandal (administrative sub-division) in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on November 30, reports Telangana Today. During interrogation, the trio revealed their identity as Vetti Bhimaraju alias Rakesh of Kristapurampadu, Sunnam Nageswar Rao alias Muttaiah and Velkam Pentaayya of Bhattinapalli in Cherla Mandal, and confessed that they were working as militia members for the banned Maoist party for the last three years and providing logistics to Maoist leaders Aruna, Rajitha and Madhu and militia leader Balu. The trio were involved in blasting a landmine at Pedda Midisileru two months back and planting pressure mines at Kaliveru in October, Cherla Inspector of Police (CI), B Ashok said. The Police seized six booby traps the militia members were carrying with an intention to set them up targetting the Security Forces. Pamphlets related to the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Week (from December 2 to 8) were also seized from them, Ashok informed.
