Two United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) militants suspected to be involved in the January 26 bomb blast at Teok ghat (Charaideo District) were arrested from Sepakathi in Charaideo District in Assam on January 29, reports The Telegraph. The arrestees were identified as Manas Jyoti Padmavat alias Bastab Jyoti Asom and Chow Lakhi Longno alias Rubul Asom. one 5.56mm AR HK33 rifle with 33 live rounds and two magazines were recovered from the cadres. They had joined ULFA-I in 2009 and 2017 respectively. East Mojo adds that Charaideo Superintendent of Police (SP) Anand Mishra stated that "It is suspected that the duo are part of a six-member 'crack-gang' of ‘Arohan’ of ULFA-I and were recently seen hovering the inter-state border of Assam-Arunachal Pradesh-Nagaland in the last few days before the blast took place."The Sentinel adds that arrestees were part of the crack group led by Apurba Gogoi alias Arohan Asom which is suspected to be behind the Serial Blast.
Separately, ‘army chief’ of Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) was arrested on the intervening night of January 29-30 from Dhansari area of Karbi Anglong District of Assam, reports Northeast Now. The arrestee was identified as Minom Phonglosa alias Gazaw Dimasa. A pistol and three rounds of ammunition was recovered from the arrestee.
