Police arrested two leaders of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist-Chand) in Jumla District of Province No. 6 on July 22, reports Republica. The arrested were identified as District Secretary Birkha Bahadur Shahi and Youth Organization District Bureau in-charge Bakhat Bahadur Bista. Police arrested them from Hima rural municipality.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Ishwar Pokharel, talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on July 22 said that the Government would forward process for talks with CPN-Maoist-Chand group only if the group gives up arms and violent activities, reports Republica. Pokharel shared that the Government has not officially forwarded process for a dialogue with Chand-led group.
