Two District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel were injured when Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Gogunda village in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on May 21 (today), reports Business Standard.The incident took place near Gogunda village, located around 500 kilometres from State capital, Raipur, when a joint team of security men was out on an anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation, a senior Police official said. The patrolling team, comprising personnel from the DRG and the Special Task Force (STF), was cordoning off a forest at a hill near Gogunda, when the Maoists triggered the IED blast, he said. This led to an exchange of fire between the two sides, he added. "Two DRG jawans received injuries in the blast," the official said.
