The Lucknow Special Court on August 27 sentenced two suspect militants—Mohammad Tariq Qasmi and Mohammad Akhtar aka Tariq Hussain, of Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) to life imprisonment in 2007 Lucknow Court blast case, reports The Indian Express. On November 23, 2007, a series of blasts took place in the premises of Lucknow, Faizabad, and Varanasi Court complexes. The explosions were a joint terrorist operation conducted by HuJI and Indian Mujahideen (IM), claimed Police in its report.
