Two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) in Sangam area in Bijbehara town in Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on February 21, reports Daily Excelsior. The slain LeT militants are yet to be identified. SFs recovered weapons from the site of the encounter.
Meanwhile, an associate of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was arrested from Budgam District of J&K on February 21, reports Daily Excelsior. Acting on a tip-off, a checkpoint was established at Khan Sahib in the central Kashmir District, when a vehicle was intercepted and Saqib Ahmad Lone, a resident of Wager village in the area, was arrested and incriminating material was recovered from his possession, Police spokesperson said. As per Police records, Lone is involved in assisting the active JeM militants operating in the areas of Khan Sahib, the spokesperson added. Lone is also involved in providing logistic support and shelter to JeM terrorists operating in the area, the spokesman said.
